Promoting the breeding of racing American Quarter Horses & Thoroughbreds in New Mexico since 1961
Established in 1961 the New Mexico Horse Breeders\' Association promotes the breeding and racing of American Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds within the State of New Mexico .
For nearly 50 years this non-profit corporation has served as the backbone to an agricultural based industry that has been a long standing tradition in New Mexico . The Association serves as the official registry for New Mexico Bred Horses as well as administering a legislative mandated incentive fund.
The NMHBA Incentive Fund was developed to encourage the expansion of the industry and to improve the quality of performing athletes. This program has been successful, and in turn it consistently increases the economic impact of the State. More than ever, horses bred in New Mexico are competitive on a national level and are recognized globally for their accomplishments.
