It seems like yesterday how I became a devoted follower of the sport of Horse Racing. I started out in 1985 marvelling at the exploits of legendary claiming trainers named Oscar Barrera, "Pistol Pete" Ferriola and Gasper Moschera on the New York circuit. I also remember the incomparable jockey colony on the west coast that consisted of names like McCarron, Delahoussaye, Stevens, Pincay, and Shoemaker. And oh, a neat little horse called Spend a Buck was constantly in the news that year. How times have changed!
So how does one put into one post a summary of nearly a quarter century of experience as a horse racing fan? I simply can not. So I'd like to mention a pivotal event in my life that occurred back in 1996: I bought my first personal computer, the Macintosh Performa.
