Here you will find stories of the horses, courses, and people that have found a place in the deeply fascinating history of horse racing. In 2007, the Daily Racing Form's Steve Crist called Colin's Ghost one of "...the best of the current blogs..." and "...among the most interesting racing journalism being practiced anywhere." Content from CG has been featured on influential racing sites like Equidaily.com, Raceday360, and the Paulick Report. The Paulick Report is the next step in this award-winning journalist's storied career.

The Paulick Report is your source for exclusive stories, featuring reporting and analysis on a wide range of topics by veteran Thoroughbred industry journalist Ray Paulick, who over the past three decades has developed a trusted and informed network of sources throughout the industry. Since then, I have alternated from fan to horse player...hence my "amateur" status. I don't get to the track much these days. Thanks to the computer and internet I've medicated my fever with internet searching and wagering along with prior blogs on Horseplayer Magazine and Horseplayer Pro. Thanks "Dr." Jeremy Plonk for my first prescriptions.

Full of Run

Why "Full of Run"?

Full of Run is my Horse Racing Blog. Simple as that. It's inspiration, however, is as deep as deep gets.

You'll notice that the header for Full of Run is a photo of Barbaro turning for home in the 2006 Kentucky Derby. I decided on that image and the title Full of Run because that is how I choose to remember him; nostrils flaring as he leaves all rivals in the wake of his powerful strides as he charges down the long Churchill Downs stretch. Barbaro's lasting contribution to the Sport of Kings may be the world-wide attention his subsequent injury and doomed recovery brought to laminitis, but I remember him like he is in the photo; full of run.

The last quarter mile of the 2006 Derby is forever stored on the hard drive of my mind. I was (and still am) convinced that I was witnessing the horse. This 3 year-old son of Dynaformer was going to do "it." He was going to end a going-on-thirty-year drought of Triple Crown Winners.

Horses new to the track are often described as being "green" and seem a little confused while charging from the gate.

Now I am not really confused, but I definitely had to charge from the gate to gain a stance in this fast paced Thoroughbred industry.

Saratoga Sire

Industry Experience @ Needham-Betz Thoroughbreds Lexington, KY (foaled Roman Ruler)----- El Primero Training Center (Asmussen Horse Center Laredo,Tx.)----- Backside at Belmont----- Longtime avid race fan.
